AP2 Cluster Swap Help
Hello, everyone new to Honda-Tech! Finally able to start my first thread!
Swag!
I recently bought an AP2 cluster that I would like to put into my DC2, Integra to replace the current GS-R cluster. It's a 94. But I still don't completely understand this whole conversion and how the set up exactly works.
I know that I obviously need the cluster, which I have purchased.
Pigtails.
The SpeedoHealer to convert the readings from analog signals to digital signals.
A Modifry ECT Module for the temperature and coolant readings.
The Vehicle Speed Sensor. (VSS)
But what I don't understand and have searched around for but have not been able to find was what keeps track of the fuel gauge? Is it the same ECT controller for the temperature gauge?
And what is the purpose of the VSS if you have a speedohealer? Doesn't the speedohealer keep track of this information automatically?
Is there also a way to get around these expenses of buying the conversions and having a fully functional AP2 Cluster? If so, please let me know.
Thank you!

I'd assume the speed converter requires the VSS to get a speed reading, which to convert. Also, the ECU requires the VSS for VTEC engagement, as it won't engage with the car standing still.
The only thing is that my car doesn't have a VTEC though. It has a GS-R transmission, and cluster, but not the motor, solenoids, distributor, or ECU.
Doesn't the DC2 come with a stock VSS?
Have you actually spent any time looking into this conversion? I'm sure you're not the first person to try this conversion, so I'd imagine there's info out there. Why would you want an 8K redline showing on the cluster when your motor doesn't rev that high?
I have and I'm still confused. I'm new to this whole Honda game thing. I'm eighteen. I already have an 8K redline on my current cluster. My car has really long gears. I somewhat recently bought the car close to nine months ago and that's how it was. Honestly, I prefer the digital appearance of the S2000 Cluster. I don't push my car or drive it hard.

My next question is does my car come with a VSS or do I have to go on a search and look for it? I have the cluster, the pigtails, the speedometer corrector, and the Modifry ECT will be ordered later today.

Yes, I have. I've been through a numerous amount of forums, and different videos on Youtube to try and be able to understand. If I had certainty after all of that, then I wouldn't have posted a thread and asked.

wire up the modify, speedohealer, and the pigtails from both cars and you will be golden. The gas guage will read about a 1/4 tank off, but you can add a 10 ohm resister to it and it will be perfect.
Thanks!
Newb question, but what's a resistor, where does it go, how much should it cost, and why does it only read a quarter of a tank?
