Will the front bumper and headlights from a 99-00 civic fit on a 96-98? Does it just bolt right on?

 

it will bolt on if you also have the 99-00 fenders, hood, and grille. i think there is also speculation as to whether or not you need the 99-00 radiator support as well.

 

My plan is to buy a 96 cx, swap the bumper and headlights from an 00 SiR, my buddy does bodywork. Im just wondering if it has to be fitted right or what.

 

youll need the radiator support forsure..the grill holes are farther apart on the 99-00 front end unless you dont want to use them..goodluck

no i dont believe so..everything is easy besides the radiator support..im doing a 99 front end on my 97 coupe and just customizing the radiator support myself cause its welded on and whatnot and looks pretty hard to get off

 

So what you have to do is find a way to mount the radiator on the new bumper?

 

to my understanding everything should bolt up fine but youll need to make something for the top of the grill to bolt into

thats not true, I was told u needed the radiator support too but I didnt use it and the grille holes to the radiator support lined up. Just did this convertion on my friends car on Sunday. All I used was the fenders, bumper,grille,and hood. Still looking for the headlights though

 

ok but then tell me how do the grills line up when the 99 one is twice the size of a 96 one??

 

The only difference from the 99 radiator support from the 96 is, that there is a metal thing on the support next to the grille that u can shave off or just go over it to put the bumper on.
It probably sounds cunfusing or like so Ill try to get some pics right now of what Im talking bout.

 

the holes are the same but the grilles arent, get what Im saying?
