Knocking Sound (yes I searched)
Ok, so im re writing this thread so if anyone ever searches a similar problem, their answer could possibly be something simple as mine was.
For starters, I am lowered on Function & Form Type II coilovers.
Problem:
Knocking/Popping sound when turning steering wheel only to the right. The sound would appear anytime the steering wheel was turned to the right, whether over a bump, or on a perfectly paved road. If I was turning right, there was a knock/pop. Reversing yielded the same results.
Common Diagnosis:
The most common possible diagnostics I recieved on this knocking/popping sound were possible CV Joint issues, upper strut mounts, LCA bushings, or sway bar endlinks.
Solution:
The actual solution of my problem was that the locking ring on the coilover itself came loose. Loose enough to the point where I could just move it freely with 1 finger. Once tightened, there was no more sound. This small issue was making a big noise which made it seem like it could of been my axles or my strut mount.
So before you go out and buy new axles or strut mounts or whatever else, make sure you double check your coils and make sure everything is tightened down real good! Diagnose the small problems before moving onto bigger problems that might cost you money you dont need to spend.

Correct me if im wrong, but I dont think camber is an issue. So I dont see camber wear affecting my stock hardware. The alignment shop set my camber at -1 all around. But like I said, correct me if im wrong, cause what do I know, im just a dental tech lol
I took it into a shop at lunch and the guy popped the hood and held his fingers on the strut mount and said there was play in the strut mount while I turned the wheel.
Any opinions on this?

Well that would really suck if my strut mounts went bad seeing as how these coilovers were bought brand new only a few months ago. I guess ill call them today and see about getting a new one.
I will let you guys know what the problem is as soon as it is fixed. It might be awhile, but I will for sure let you guys know.

Are you aware of the lower control arm/ "compliance" bushing that seems to be a common wear item on our cars (a bit surprised no one has mentioned this actually)? My '02 Civic Si has an occasional popping (although not to the extent that you describe), and I've noticed a general "loose" feeling to the front end, especially over ragged pavement, that has emerged over the past year or so. Need to get mine looked at soon... I'm around 111k fwiw...

I think it is either my axle, or like the last mechanic said, my strut mount. I will purchase and replace the strut mount first, if the problem is not solved, I will replace my axle, if it is not solved, maybe I will check the LCA.
I have updated the original thread with more info.
what coils do you have? the locking ring might not be tight enough, my ff2 coils did this when i would turn hard right or left, but then i just tightened the locking ring super hard and problem went away
I tightened the locking ring today and the noise was completely gone! Not only did the sound go away but it felt a lot better as well! Peace and quiet finally!
