Distributor for '89 Accord LXi KA5MT
I need a distributor for '89 Accord LXi manual transmission, VIN 1HGCA5542KA121405. Searches on parts sites show both 30105-PJ0-A03 (discontinued) and 30100-PJ0-A05 (on national back order). The vacuum advance is black plastic with two ports. Anybody know which one is correct? Does anyone have experience with new/remanufactured parts from A1 Cardone, Richporter, or Beck Arnley?

According to this site: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/index.php?p=home both the 30100-PJ0-A03 and 30100-PJ0-A05 are still available, they're just $500-600. I don't know where yuo came up with those part numbers but, I used the VIN you provided.
One is going to be the TEC distributor, and the other is the Hitachi. Not sure how to tell which one is on your car.
According to this thread:

"The Hitachi has the ignitor system mounted internally and the TEC has it external."
I don't think it matters which one you run, if you are buying a complete unit.
Here's an overhaul thread for the TEC distributor. Maybe this will help you save some bucks.

I'm not sure how to tell which part number is which, but I found a listing for O'Reilly which seems considerably cheaper.

I would just make sure you get one for the fuel injected car, and not the carubreted car. They are different distributors.
