I have a 93 EG Coupe with an H22A swap in it. It doesnt shift into 3rd, feels like its hitting a rubber wall or somthing, maybe it is binding. Any ideas of what this could possibly be?

 

what condition is the linkage in? bushings and cables...

 

they dont appear to be in bad condition shifter isnt loose or anything just wont push into 3rd

 

I dont think its the cables. Has the trans been apart?

 

Easyu way to check, undo the cables from the trans and shift it. Thyll bind if theres an issue. Also while theyre off try to shift the trans without them hooked up. My money says internal or if its been apart, the detent ball spring is hammering the fork because the spacing washer is hammered

 

actually did this early this morning, and its not the cables, think it is internal, but will the detent ball make it feel like pressing against rubber? i dnt know if its been apart or not, i just got it a week ago.

 

COuld be that, a broken blocking ring stuck or bent fork
