Default From Hawaii, Aloha! 92 DB1 Integra

Name is Germz, also known as GERMZDB1 on G2IC. I've been on the forum for quite some time now. Usually just lurking and talking with other members. It's a 92 Integra Sedan. I was intentionally looking for a DA coupe but came across this super clean sedan for $1800. Figured I pick it up because I needed another daily. I'm the second owner. Got it from an elderly man in my area with only 77k miles. Everything was stock and the interior was clean except for the floor mats. There wasn't anything wrong with it mechanically except for the minor oil leaks. It runs like a champ! It's been one year now and the car is about to reach 88k miles. I guess you can call this my build thread? Or whatever... I'll just post up pics on here as I go along. It'll move very slow though

The night I picked it up:

At the shop giving it a wash:

The Messy engine bay:

The owner swapped out the old steering wheel with some weird looking autozone wheel. Plan is to get rid of it and get a nice OEM one. On a side note, i'm loving my 5 panel mirror that I bought for the car. I wasn't planning on getting it but I struck a deal for it from a friend of mine. $10 haha. I love the functionality of it. So helpful:

A friend of mine evenly traded his BMW Bottle caps for my steelies. I still don't know how I feel about these wheels. I'll see when I re-paint them or something. Also bought the bottle caps new rubber.

I drove the car around like that for about a year or so. I thought it needed a drop. Got some no name brand sleeves off a friend. It was probably the worst ride in the entire world. The wrong spring rates made it feel like I was driving around in a bouncing castle:

That's all I got for now and i'll be back later with more updates. My real full bodied coilovers should be here soon and a few other parts. Should be a good next update!

Thanks! Hawaii is a very small island. People don't rack up miles that easy since everything is close.

Haha I know

When I took the car home I noticed it had a really shitty rusty tip and it was almost gone. Went to the junkyard and picked this sorta clean muffler up. Could use a nice polish or something:

Awesome to see another Oahu car up! You said it on the low miles, bought an 83 civic here before from the original owner with only 97k miles!

Need to post up a thread here with my EG, not getting much attention in the paint and body forums.

Got one up

https://honda-tech.com/forums/appearance-build-threads-122/my-eg-hatch-full-repaint-partial-resto-more-3084905/

Its on Forums Hawaii too but no one goes on there so I probably wont be updating it as much, just looking for people to cruise with once I finish my paint job, gotta show off all my hard work!

I got a 5 panel wink mirror too, things amazing! Wish I got mine for $10 though haha

Damn I'm loving the progress! We should link up once you get that paint done. Where you located on Oahu? I'm in town side.

Not much of an update. Just threw everything back together and went for a little cruise with my homies. Again, this is a super slow build so updates won't be almost everyday. Wish I was baller

Yeah I go every weekend. You there too?

Previous owner did a shitty job of painting the wheels white so I decided to strip em back to OEM style. Again... i'm doing this just to gain some feelings for the wheels. I don't really dig em right now but maybe when its all done i'll see. Still saving for a set of different wheels. Anyway... here's when I started...

end (but not done. ran out of air craft; also needs some mag polish)

Clear corners. Those amber corners were ugly. It's funny because i've been told these corners go from about $30-$100 now days depending if their real jdm or replica. I scored these for $5 from some dude that was selling em locally on craigslist. I'm happy haha. But i'm still getting one pieces.

Haven't been on here in a while but here's hows things are going. Put it up in the air to put the new coilovers in

Then on the side I picked up something to roll around in...

Peeled the ugly dark tint off. It's refreshing to see it without tint. It gives it a much cleaner look
