car drifting to right while braking
Ok i had piece of crap brakes on there not to long ago that i replaced with brembo blanks and axxis ultimates. Well when me and my boyfriend went out and were bedding the brakes in and it was stilll doing a little wheel shaking. this was on brand new brakes. so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on to what would cause the wheels shaking while braking like that? It can't be warped rotors considering they are brand new. i just wanna get it fixed because i want smooth braking, i don't like the steering wheel wobbling back and forth while braking. thanks for all your help in advance
PS- one of my calipers also broke while we were doing this so i could have bad calipers, it was just a thought.

Fix your caliper and check your tires, how old are they? Does the wobbling only happen after you brake? You might also want to check if the lugnuts are tight enough....

dom about the caliper part you would have to ask breaka_1_9 because he did it
the old brake pad on the driver's side was worn unevenly. it didn't occur to me at the time that the piston might be seized up. when i pressed the piston back into the caliper, i am pretty sure it was straight. i want to check on that next...

It is possible that you have more than one thing going on here. First take care of the caliper-get a remanufactured one and put it on. Blled your brakes while you are at it. I would check the new pads very carefully as it is possible that the driver's side may not be parallel on the face-measure the thickness on each end and on top and bottom edges. With the car still on jackstands-take the driver's side rotor back off and make sure that the hub face is absolutely clean and reinstall the rotor.
It is very important that the rotors are on the hubs so that there is no runout. If you do not have a dial indicator then there is no way to measure this. Generally, it is only important when getting rotors turned.
During your reassembly make sure that the hub is tight and that the wheel studs are OK too. You might want to have the wheels rebalanced, which is not a bad idea anyway.
With all this done and the rotors sprayed with brake cleaner and wiped with a clean cloth-you should be able to go out and bed the pads in again.
Good luck

Is the caliper bracket bolted on to the correct Torque?
i will inspect the driver's side caliper to see if it is indeed bad. then we will go from there.
thanks for everyone's help so far!
I see new rotors warped. And they were from Lexus. Yes, Lexus. If you did installation correctly, It's the rotors. I will bet my house on this. Bleeding the brake won't fix this problem.
is this ONLY when on the brakes? Just wondering.... if not, the wheel could be slightly off center. Or possibly one of the weights fell off the rim? IF it's only when braking, then I'd def. wonder about the calipers......
just an update for everyone...
tbone and i messed with the caliper piston yesterday, making sure it was straight. we got it straight (if it wasn't all ready) and made sure the piston moved. it did move, so we went out for a ride. result: same thing as before...care pulls to the right.
soi we're gonna put on a known working caliper to make sure the car doesn't pull anymore. then we'll see if the shaking under braking is still there.
thanks for all the help posted above.

I had this same exact problem and it turned out that the new rotors were in fact warped.

thanks for the info!
ok well we raplaced the caliper, and bled the brakes. still pulling to the right. does anyone have any suggestions. we didn't take it on the highway for high speed braking to see if it did it then but its pulling at low speed.
might have to turn the rotors
I know very little about brakes, but figured I would ask this question, for my knowledge as well. Could it possibly have anything to do with the brake lines? I mean, in theory, if one line was not as solid/sturdy/whatever couldnt that cause uneven pressure to the brakes?
might have to turn the rotors
they are brand new, brand new and last week we swapped rotros from side to side and it still did the same thing. the only thing we can think of is the lines bad, but even when we bled the brakes fluid still came out
