i am in the process of buying a 03 ep3 and really like the jdm type r front ,rear side and lip kit . ive seen many replicas but id like the real deal kit so can anyone who has ordered the real deal point me in the right direction so i wont get scammed on the set ,and also is there any major work to the install like does anything need to be changed out like supports or things of that nature .

 

You can't get it new from anywhere (unless you have a connect in japan) so just start looking for used bumpers on ebay. FYI, the JDM EP3 got a facelift in 04-05 so they're 2 different styles.

 

You're gonna need the JDM re-bar to do the face lift.

 

i dont mind it being used as long as all the hardware is along and it is in good shape , im not a fan of ebay you get a lot of crap not saying i coulnt get lucky . i like the type r front on the 02 03 better so was more looking for that kit

 

is that only on the 04 05 or for both style bumpers

 

I believe that's for both styles for the front bumper. You can usually find somebody selling a kit a in good shape on ephatch.com

I say save yourself some cash flow and buy a kit used from someone with an EP.

good info in this thread. One last thing, front and back jdm re-bars are needed, or go rebar less, for the bumpers. Front jdm rebar will bolt right on, but the rear wont. Most people mod the stock rear rebar to fit the rear bumper.

 

does the rear wing on the 04 05 hfp kit fit on a 03 ep3 ? also is that wing the same as the type r wing

 

Yes it will fit any EP3 and yes, cosmetically it is identical to the Type-R spoiler.

 

I've heard of some fitment issues with the Type R spoiler. You may have to do some slight modification for it to fit right.

 

^ OP asked about the HFP spoiler, that one will bolt right on. Type-R spoiler needs modification but Type-R and HFP spoilers both look the same.

 

not true about HFP. You have to drill a hole into the hatch for the 3rd brake light.

 

You actually don't have. I left one of the screws off and put the wire through the hole where I didn't have a screw.
