How do you remove the dead pedal on a 89 honda crx si.

I have looked for mounting bolts in the wheel well but cant find any. I want to replace the carpet but am having a heck of a time removing this thing without prying it out. I would like to keep it in tact.

take a small flat head screwdriver and pry off the foot pedal "tread." This will expose 2 bolts, i believe 10 mm that bolt it to the floor.
