Low alternator voltage on 2000 civic dx
So I was getting low voltage from my alternator so I replaced it an I'm still getting 12.46 volts on idle and no higher than 12.6 when engine is running. Changed alternator fuse and belt. Anyone have any other suggestions? Also new battery as well
That's a problem. Fuse 15 is probably blown. Don't replace it. Instead measure voltage on both top tabs of the installed fuse. Click the Fuses link in my signature.

Check whether the charging system bulb socket and the 4P alternator plug get voltage from fuse 15.
If the voltage regulator in the alternator does not get voltage from fuse 15, the alternator will not charge the battery.

My apology let me clarify this. The battery light turns on, in the on (II) position, and turns off when engine is running. I didn't read that through carefully and thought you had asked if the light turns on when the car is running.
There's a large white wire that runs from the alternator to the hood fuse box. Turn key off. Disconnect the battery connectors and the white wire from the alternator. Measure the resistance (Ohms) between the + battery connector and the alternator end of the white wire.
I disconnected the wires from the battery and alternatora wire from the fuse box and I get two numbers the first is 2.62 and than the multimeter says o.l than 28.95 pops up
? I set the multimeter to ohms and touched on probe to the pOsitive wire and one probe to the white alternator wire coming from the fuse box
What did you disconnect?
Ok so I redid it right now at work and got the number 2.099 pictures are attached of the wires disconnected what wires I touched the two probes with and of my multimeter so you can correct the way I'm doing if it is wrong. Thank you for yOur patience and help btw.
