Default Speedometer cable on CRX?

From other cars I've worked with the speedometer cable runs from the gauge cluster to the transmission, is this correct for my '89 CRX?

If the top is correct then:

Do the different trannies (Si, DX, HF) have different speedo gear ratios?

I have an Si tranny on my ZC and I think I've got an HF tranny, could this make my speedometer be off? Thanks.

yes it runs from your cluster to the back of your trtaanny.

I believe they all have same speedo gears.

It is mechanical. Your speedo could be off cause of bling bling 17" rims or something or you got mad power yo and spin the tires all the time

i am assuming there is a typo there b/c that doesn't make sense.

are you saying you have the Si tranny and a HF gauge cluster? if so it shouldn't matter. your tire/wheel size ratio could be off screwing things up.

Find yourself a clean section of interstate with mile markers. Run at an indicated speed of 60 MPH. It should take 60 second to travel one mile. If it takes less then the speedo is indicating low (you are going faster than you think). If it takes more than 60 seconds then you are going slower than you think. Do a timed run then email me. I can tell you how far off you are at that speed. It will not be linear so I would check it at several speeds.

Sorry for the mistake, yeah Si Tranny HF cluster. Got an Si cluster ready to put in, just wondering if I would see a difference. As for Bling Bling dubs... I've got stock 13" steel wheels with Honda hubcaps. My car is sleeping.

Si's came w/ 14 inchers. The 13's could be throwing it off. Not to much though. Ask a Police Officer to clock you to see how far off you are or when they have the radar/speed flasher things on th side of the road(don't know the name of...) check then if you don't want to do the math. Oh and btw, I have them bling-blingin' 17" wheels on my car and my speedo is dead on. You could have another problem other than wheel size.Speedo calibration can be off or your cable needs some lube. Good luck.

I seem to be leading a lot of you astray, I don't really have a problem with my speedometer, I was just wondering if I would have a problem when I put in my Si cluster. You already answered this. Thanks.

i had 13's on my car when i finished my swap earlier this summer, boy was i off! those little 13's accelerated hard, but when i got up to highway speeds, the guage cluster read 70 when everyone else was only doing like 60! put some stock 14's back on it, that should help.

Once again, don't really think my speedo is wrong. As for "put[ing] some stock 14's back on it" that would be easy if I had some. This car came with 13" Del Sol wheels/tires/hubcaps. Saving my money for some 15"s.
