Carbon Creations parts wavy
I have a 89 CRX and its getting some paint. I have the following carbon parts.
1. Carbon Creations Hood and fenders
2. ABS Dynamics Mirrors
3. Seibon Mugen wing
The painter is a perfectionist, and when test fitting the carbon creation parts on he express concerns about how wavy they are. He says the other brand parts are perfect. We were planing on putting a thin layer of black, the color of the rest of the car. The painter thinks this is a bad idea with the waviness of the front end, making it worst.
Is there anything to fix this, besides getting new parts?
Thanks

It really depends on how bad the waves are and how thick the gelcoat is.I have had very small waves taken out of carbon parts by really sanding down into the gel coat to get rid of some material to get the part to be a bit more flat.Carbon parts really need to be made correctly for them to look good thats why I dont use them anymore.
I had the same problem with carbon creation hood n fenders. I heated the real bad spots and moved them into shape. Then I blocked out the gel coat and mudded it. It's a total pain in the *** and I would never buy that crap again.
That crap as in carbon fiber, or carbon creations?
