I just bought an 97 Integra with 170k miles. All gears work except third. I think its the synchros but i have not done a whole lot of troubleshooting. It does look like the previous owner cut the shifter down, not sure if that has any effect. Should I rebuild or just replace the synchros? Thanks for any input.

 

Take it apart and see what it looks like. Chances are it needs a 3rd/4th hub and sleeve, and potentially 3rd gear as well along with the synchro.

Order a full 3rd gear set from Honda and just be done with it. LOL
