Stock Fenders with 225/45/15 slicks?
Hey Honda tech,
I was just wondering if anyone know's if 225/45/15 slicks will fit on my Type R without fender modifications? My car is pretty low... Anyone running 225's without rubbing issues?
Thanks

What kind of slicks?
There's no problem running 225/50-15 or 225/45-15 in the front of the DC2. But in the back it would slightly rub the trailing arm depending on the offset of the wheels.

The wheels are SSR Type C 15x7 +42
Tires are Continental GT Slick Take Offs similar to Hoosier R6's.
If I through a 5mm spacer on in the rear would it be ok?

225/50 is a perfect fit on a 7", while 7.5" is most ideal for 225/45. But 225/45 can still be mounted on 7" with no problem. You can check the spec sheet for your specific tire. It should show a range of wheel width.

You really need to test fit. But 225 is a lot of tire for the rear, and with spacers to clear (wider track), you might suffer massive understeer.

I got a contact in Japan to buy them for me off of Yahoo Auction Japan. These are JDM SSR Type C's not the USDM version.
I believe they sold for close to $750usd at auction. After handling fee's and shipping they were around $950 landed.
I run 225/45/15s continental slicks on my itr. 15x8s rota slips 40 offset. Fronts fenders have a slight roll where the fender liner clips into and the rears have a slight roll. No spacers, no rubbing anywhere. I do run pretty aggressive camber though.
15x7 +38 Type C's will hold 225-45-15 RA1 just fine. There's a lot of 225-45's that are too wide, but the RA1 works. You sort of have to look at the published measurements of the exact tyre series.
