h22a 200whp possible with bolt on's ???
candidate
h22a jdm with h22a lsd tranny.
mods
MUGEN header
MUGEN catback/exaust (no cat, no resonator)
AEM PULLEYS
AEM Cam-Gears
AEM Coldair intake
Blitz SUS filter
powersteering removed (if must)
No AC
p-28 with chipped (mugen-skunk2-spoon) - programs availible
down the list (skunk2 8 pound flywheel)
act extreme clutch kit
what else do i need....???
would i need stronger lighter rods, and prelude S pistons, i have 10.6cr pistons now..
valve train is stock with stock jdm cams (normal jdm cams)
could anybody reply and tell me what i need..
forgot . i'm at sea level...
any help would be nice.

The only way you could get near 200 whp with those mods is running open header. With some nice cams and good tuning you could definately get there or near there.
Not with just bolt ons... 200whp is definitely attainable without resorting to forced induction, but the motor will need to be cracked open to achieve that goal. With 11:1 compression, some cams, and some mild port and polish work on the head and intake manifold, + all the other stuff you listed, 200whp should be within range.
You definitely would not use a P28 ECU for this project however... Replace that with a standalone EMS, a P13, or a reprogrammed P72.

bolt-ons? nope. Gotta do some internals...I think most people with just bolt-ons struggle to 185whp....but with a jdm h22a you're doing a little better with 10.6:1 CR
Well I would think you might be losing a bit of HP due to the P28 since it does not open the Secondaries. Find a p72 and get a hondata, or just find a obd1 h22a ecu and chip it.
Get the head work done. SS valves, Dual springs, and TI retainers. 3 angle valve job wouldnt hurt either. Type S pistons should increase compression, and if you got some nice cams.
If you do that, you should be above 200.

i think a good set of cams will get you there
type s pistons wont do much because you already have 10.6:1 compression

haah you don't need pistons or higher compression to make 200whp.. i have 3 friends making 194-200whp with just bolt ons. Aem cai, dc header, greddy sp exhaust, test pipe, cam gears, FPR, vafc and dyno tuning. My ex made 186 with just aem cai, dc header, pulleys, apexi n1 and vafc.
edit...just remember tuning is the key. there are not many H series tuners out there since mostly all the import guys are b series ******.

I was a b18C ***** in EG owned two, now gone for a monster.. but i'm noticing that the h22a doen'st make as much power than B series.. ls vtec's are making huge power (poor man's ITR) oh and the parts are crazy cheap too ...
h22a **** is expensive!!

I agree, the H22 just doesn't make as much power as a B20 VTEC. Those things make 220 hp before crazy mods. 184 hp is a long way from 200 hp. Unless it's all fuel, there's nothing that's going to make up 16 whp. Minimally a new set of cams and adjustable cam gears are going to have to go in.
sent the head away to be flow tested and benched... i did a bit of work i don't think it would improve much but you never know.. or hurt
that would be on the head
that would be on the head

Are you talking SAE corrected WHP? Or are we talking actual WHP numbers? Even if it's actual, I'd still say it's a stretch. But then again, I put down 183whp (actual) with just a header and a catback on an OBD2 Prelude.

I'd love to see some dynos that prove me wrong though.

I'd have to go one step further than aklucsarits and say the 200hp SAE corrected to the wheels with only bolt ons is a fantasy land no matter what tuning you do.
well i'm doing an ek-h22 swap and i've posponed it until my motor is somewhat modded... more so... I want to put bolt on's or internal parts required. the motor is completely appart head bottom etc, fully rebuilt parts, all main, connecting rods bearings etc etc...
i'd like to keep putting bolt on's until it would be safe to say i should have 200whp when i put it together and dyno it on the first run after break in..
i've done the endyn piston mod on my 10.6 pistons.
i have a 2000$ US fund budjet so this can be realized in late march when it's dropped in and getting breaked in.
i'm in canada, no tuner shops for several hundred miles away....
so i need a winning combination to ensure 200whp..
mods are uptop in the ticket so far aquired.

Ok, I'm a little confused, how much WHP does a stock H22A put out. I have a forth gen Vtec that will blow the doors off most v6's and a couple v8's and the only thing I've done is put crossed drilled slotted rotors and semi mettalic pads. I know its not WHP but all of the documents I've seen on this car say that it produces 190 HP. Little help, thanks
Remove weight from your car, that's "free" hp. Much cheaper to go that route for those extra 16hp.
Everyone always has this fixation on horsepower. If this 200hp engine is put in a 3500lb slug, who cares. Proof? Look at a sport bike to see how fast you can go with "only" 140hp.
