ok so i just picked my car up. i was under the hood and on the top of the transmission there is a metal tube comin straight up by the block code. its open wit nothin attached and i been having trouble shifting. is that why. what is it the tube i been lookin all morning

no but i think your right just didnt realize they put those there

 

If the factory "vent cap" is gone and you have just the tube, I'd find a piece of "U" shaped hose and slide it on.....keep water, dirt, oil, who knows what else from getting into the trans.
