Default What are options for interrior replacements (not seats)?

So I have a EF7. The top of the dash is cracked, the felt or whatever fabric was on it originally is destroyed by the sun on the top part and became a wonderful sand paper (as I often end up losing some skin on my knuckles when I clean the inside windshield).

My questions are what alternatives have people done to their cracked dashes? As my car gets older I find its harder and harder to find parts and doubt the possibility of finding a mint RHD dash is going to happen.

My thoughts would be one of the carbon fiber kits (not the wrap), but I honestly cannot tell if those kits are real. Not to mention I would have to get some sort of cloth to sit on the top part of the dash to avoid sun glare.

So what have other people done as I cant be alone with this planning for the future thing.

I just want to know what my options are before I get more cracks or the current cracks end up splitting it in half.

And this is my DD not a track car so I would like to keep it with the current shape.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Since my thread was moved here vs the appearance board. I will clarify.

Should my only choice be to start making carbon fiber replacements (if again those kits are actually real).

I will NOT be doing it for:

1. Weight
2. Looks

I want to do it for durability reasons. I just dont know what other DIY options I have besides covering the flaws with fabric and just want some ideas on what people have done to a cars interior.

There is interior paint made by 3m, probably others also. I guess before replacing it you can try to repair it. I would sand it down, fill the cracks, then try interior paint.

I have seen some success with door panels, but I have seen failures also. You most likely wont be able to match the color unless you take your time and try out the different types.

you can do this, since the dash is plastic, we did this on my old shop teachers f100 restoration project.

i personally made little dash mat cover things out of the foam anti slip stuff you can buy in rolls at the store, looks clean and keeps stuff from flying all over my dash

How well does the paint hold out vs sun/cracks, and the mats you made. Where do you get this material? home depot?

I was hoping someone knew some site that would sell replicas of what I need, because I would prefer to swap it out, but people tell me to get it covered in material.

I just wanted durability and backup sets (ie why I was looking at carbon fiber kits) should someone ever break into my car and ruining my dash even further. I swear the crack expanded from the morning to the after noon:

There was some material over the doors.

Which when I first got it looked like someone jizzed on both door panels.

Do people respray that felt material?

Even though its not sunny in Oregon often the sun damage has taken its toll and made the top portion of the fabric into sand paper all around:

Thank you for your advisement on the paint and just creating a mat
