blah, ive got this intermittent "ticking" that sounds out of spec with the other engine noises. it happens randomly, at all engine temps and rpm though i really cant hear it when im in the throttle.
the vid is a bit long(click the pic it links to my photobucket), but you can best hear the noise easily from about 30-45 seconds in. this is just the car idling in my garage. its is up to temp 190 degrees

Perfectly normal for a VTEC head to make that noise at idle. Mine's done it for years even after adjusting valves to spec twice. You're good.
yup, just noisy injectors..
i knew a kid who had this on his IS250 and got all scared and sold the car cuz he thot something was going to blow.. i told him it was fine but he didnt listen.

just to be sure, its the random extra clacking that is not at the same speed as the regular injector noise.. it really becomes pronounced like 36 seconds in.
ive had these injectors for 2 years and they just started making this noise after the rebuild 150 miles ago. it was getting pretty bad today on the way home from fishing..
is it a sign of excessive wear or impeding failure or just them getting noisier over time?

My delphi injectors click-clack like crazy. Use a stethoscope and pinpoint the noise. You would be amazed what you can hear with them things. My alternator bearings hum like crazy and I never even knew it! Seriously though a stethoscope is like 5 bucks at harbor freight and you will be able to pinpoint the exact problem.
It's not the injectors. It's the LMAs making the intermittent ticking sound.

All fixed. It was the lma's.. I swapped them out for ones out of another head that I know didn't make that noise. Drove it around town 10 miles made a few pulls up toward redline. No more noise.
