i bought a 98 dx coupe about a month ago and some one mentioned me having cruise control and he thought it was aftermarket. i told him i didnt know it came with the car when i baught it.

so is it factory or aftermarket a kit or chop job.

the reason i ask is im having an issue where my gas pedal has a sticky spot right where i need to give it gas to take off in first. when i hit that spot it feels like a detent and before it is to little gas and after it is to much gas if taking off normaly.

and i want to see if the cruise control cable or any parts could have anything to do with this. ill also be checking my pedal pivot point and the throttle body for issues.

 

Post pictures of the cruise control actuator under the hood. It was probably installed as a factory option.

Have you cleaned the throttle body or replaced the throttle cable?

 

the sticky was all in the pedal and the cable and stuff not the throttle body pb blaster fixed that issue so forget i brought that up.

ill get some pics up tomarow of the cruise control setup.

 

98 DXs did not have factory cruise control. You've either got aftermarket cruise control, or if you're really lucky someone swapped in factory cruise control from a junked Civic LX/EX/HX/Si model.

 

I have an OEM 99 EX cruise control module if you need to replace it
