Default 95 Civic sedan - problem with accerlation

so i am at a complete stop, lights green, i gas it but my car seems like it struggles to gain speed like im stuck on 1st gear. my cars an auto btw. it would do that sometimes but when i mess with the gas pedal, continuously pressing it up and down it would soon click in to gear and it would take speed..

i was wondering why it does that, also when i am in parked and change gears to like reverse or drive i would get this big knock from my engine and it feels like my engine's about to fall. its not the motor mounts because i had replaced all that..

will that make a difference if i took the engine from a manual and swapped it into a auto car? is that why it knocks? and it would be normal if i go from gear 1 all the way to d4 sometimes, less knock that way but i heard thats bad..

Any helpful inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

My buddy had a bad transmission in his auto and every time he would shift through a gear the car would kick a little bit, im not sure if thats what youre experiencing though.

that's exactly what I've been experiencing.. so u think replacing the transmission would fix this problem no doubt? because before i had the swap my transmission never kicked like how it does now..

It would probably help, and it's a lot easier than replacing the transmission.
