My dashboard lights do not work at all. I've heard that with an aftermarket radio this tends to happen, but I'm not sure how to fix it at all. It's not just the dashboard lights, it's all the lights. When the headlights are on, the dash doesn't light up and neither does the letters on the gearshift (it's an automatic). Any clues?

 

Quick info. We took the dash off to look at the light bulbs and such. Someone had cut all the wires to the wheel that dims or brightens the dash lights. We got another part for it and replaced it, but it still didn't work. We can get the lights to come on still. The light for the ash tray works fine and turns on and off, but nothing else. Got any clues?

 

did you at least check the fuse for it?? because i had a similar problem with my 89 LX-i coupe and the tail lights and tag lights didnt work either. check the fuse then go from there

 

I have checked every fuse in the car including all of the fuses under the hood and all of them are fine. every light works except the dash lights the light for the gear shift and the dome light only comes on when you open the front passenger door and the light on that door works but the lights do not come on for the other three doors the clock on the dash even works.

 

This would be a good question to post on 3geez. Lots of 3g Accord guys there who know their ****!
