obd1 dizzy with obd0 ecu
ok so i dont know if any one will read this or cares but you can use a obd1 dizzy with a obd0 mpfi ecu i know cause i have dont it three time already with no check engine lights
1. will need a obd1 and obd0 dpfi dizzy
2.you need to disasemble both of these but becareful there are little screws the sloted gear onthe bottom you need mark it i usally scribe a line on the shaft on the same side theline is on the sloted gear.
3.once you have the center shaft out you need to mark were the gears are on the shaft with a marker or something.
4.using a small gear puller tou need to remove the bottom two gears off the obd1 dizzy one is the crank pos. the other is the tdc sensor. the crank is the 24 tooth one set that aside you dont need that any more you can make a necklace or something
.
5. now you need to do the same on the dpfi dizzy crank pos. on this one has 20 teeth.
6. now here comes the tricky part you need to grind, file or what ever the middle tooth on the cluster of three now you have 16 evenly spaced teeth for the obd0 ecu to read
7. now thw asmbley put it back together the same way you took it apart but the senor in the dizzy for the crank pos. there is a small locating pin on the bottom of it cut that off and when you put it in you need to leave the screw out that is closes to it this because the crank wheel is a little bigger than the obd1 you can grind it down but thats to hard cause it has to be all even teeth. it will just bearly hit the igniter i shaved a little off and it worked fine. once assmbled you can put it in and call it good start it up and go drive
the is for the guy who want to do a mpfi swap but cand find a obd0 mpfi dizzy and now you can later on get a jumper harness and convert it to obd1 with out a hassle. if yo uguy have any more questions or anyhing let me know i hope someone reads this and uses it cause as far as i know i am the only one who has done this if you have let me know thanks guys

oooooooooooh K? so basically you made a home made obd0 dizzy using obd1 parts. the whole point you're missing about the non compatibility is the 20 vs 24 teeth pick up. personally i'd rather spend the time making an obd0-obd1 conversion harness and use a p06 with the obd1 dizzy save the hastle of tearing apart dizzy's, just sayin.
props on being inventive though

I'd like if this was formatted a bit better, it's some good info for a broke kid who needs a dizzy quick fast and in a hurry, and can't afford a conversion harness or OBD1 ECU.
