I am painting my faded red EG hatch later this week. Getting a QUALITY and expensive job done at a local shop who does primarily high end cars. He can paint anything and have it look amazing....

I do like the stock Milano Red, but it is so typical and kind of boring to me. I am looking for something with some more depth, maybe some flake, maybe a touch of tint change when in direct sunlight reflection vs. not.

I'm looking for something unique, yet I want it to be clean and definitely not gaudy.

Yes, I know these are all subjective terms and everyone will have their own opinion......so lets hear em!!

What do you think the best color red is for an EG hatch? Please show us an example if you can. Specific color names please....

After countless hours of looking at many different colors, I am leaning towards Mazda Velocity Red. It looks deep red in low light, brighter red in sunlight and kind of orange where the light reflects due to the gold flake in it. Its a nice red with a bunch of detail when inspected up close.....but it doesn't scream "LOOK AT ME!!" which means it is clean...which I like....

My mom has a Mazda 3 that is the color you posted above and it looks amazing when it's freshly waxed! I'm usually not a fan of "flake" paintjobs, but that color does look very nice in person.

 

I always liked habanero red off the 06 civic si's
