Those setup I would strongly reccomend a amp as the rms of those speakers are above 70 rms. They will distort when played at high volume from your headunit. Look into some entry level speakers that rms are betwee 15-45 for a better sound with out much distortion. Or get a amp and chose between what you post up. Those are some good choices.
ok on the speakers rms rating is that per speaker or per pair??
and is a amps rms per channel on top of what the deck puts out or including what the deck puts out.

No, its per speaker. And the amp is its own output. The radio has nonething to do with the amp output.
I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a brand battle but if you are looking for a entry level setup I'd recommend RE Audio. I'm also not a fan of 6x9 speakers, they will distort unless enclosed.
RE Audio REX6.5
RE Audio REX6.5

I carry re audio too. But he might be using heaf unit power. And those speakers are power hungry.

I have always been a fan of Alpine speakers. Pioneer is junk IMO, I have never had any good experiences with Pioneer.
I also would never give Best Buy my business. They hire a bunch of idiots that are clueless on the products they sell!!
Before you buy take a look at Infinty speakers. IMO, they are GREAT for the money. Find a car stereo store and take a look at some speakers that are within your budget.
stay away from the spe speakers.. if you want alpine, go sps or spr series. the spe series runs an oversized basket which makes them irritating to install.. especially in hondas, which use an undersized basket to begin with (most factory honda runs a 6", not a 6 1/2")
also.. NEVER buy speakers online without walking into a store and listening to them first. and don't just take someone else's word.. we all hear things a bit differently, and what sounds awesome to some might sound like **** to you.
