I got a set of 15 inch MR5s for ~400 for my black CRX. I am considering having them painted, just the center of course, to match the gold pin strip and gold roll bar that will be painted soon.

Any thoughts?

 

Depends on the color, but I prefer a wheel restoration, not customization. They will lose their resale value as well.

 

Bought them for 350, sold them for 800

 

Guess no-one even cares.

They were available painted, black and the 25th teal. Considering there are a lot of them floating around it's not like you are killing the last living example. So I would say it's not a sin. Just paint them a tastefull color. Orange, green, yellow now thats just shamefull LOL

jk. but seriously, do whatever color you want. they're just wheels. just get them powdercoated instead of trying to paint them in your garage, powdercoating is a lot better quality and lasts longer.

I've got a set of Final Ed. Mr5's at home that I got for a good deal. They are in great condition, but they are black (I don't really care for black wheels). I'd paint them if they had any damage to them, but since they are so mint, I can't bring myself to do them. To me, it's all about condition.

How are yours?

 

I actually never opened the boxes they came in, but I think this is a picture from the seller.

 

Here is them painted, now I am looking for bolts and caps.

Gold looks awesome. Mine are black, but my car is Phantom Gray Pearl....so they look good.

But they are for sale.

 

Always thought those wheels were ugly, but the paint seems pretty good! Did you paint or powder coat?

Got the center caps in today. Unfortunately, the rims are in NJ and I am in KY.

 

Just curious, how much did you pay for them? I'm just wondering how much mine are worth.

 

I have been watching sales for months on these caps, and here are my observations:

Lug caps (16):
Poor: $200
Average: $250
Great: $300

New: $25-$40

I paid $700 since they are new in package, and I had the seller split the purchase from the rims.
