Some more hard evidence (almost) that equal lengths make power. (And t51R pics)
This past weekend at IDRC i was speaking with the XTR guys. After switching from a revhard shorty style and now they are running a nice equal length, they got 40 hp, 50 tq. Dyno plots to prove it. Best of all the midrange was HUGE in comparison. Very interesting, but it makes sense becuase the turbo will also be spooled earlier, so even more air will be flowing.
also, a customer with a drag kit, swapped *only* the manifold out, NOTHIGN else was changed. heres his email
I got my car turbocharged this weekend, and I have to say, I'm very
impressed with your manifold and downpipe. The downpipe hugs the oil
pan... I have maybe only 1/2" less clearance than I had before. The
manifold seems to have breathed new life into my turbo... it spools
quicker and pulls stronger. My favorite part is the fact that the
turbo is rotated around 180degrees. My hondata says that at a
cruising speed, the intake air temp is around 83 degrees..... it was
well over 100 with my other setups. If you need a reference for other
sales, send them to me.
Thanks

its called a v band clamp, and the biggest advantage of it is that it takes all of about 1 minute to take the downpipe off. Also there are no bolt sto shear off in the turbo, its easier to rotate on the turbo and all in all its a wonderful thing. Did you figure out which turbo youre going to use matt? I can set up any turbo with a vband clamp...

sorry it will not clear A/C. Also it requires the use of a half style civic radiator.
Running the turbo facing this direction and using the half style civic radiator works out really well becuase the intake temps are MUCH lower whent he turbo does not have to suck in air that has already been heated up by the radiator.

Hi ffgeoff, how much is your manifold cost? how much for the regular one and how much for stainless steel for b series off course. Are you going to have a gb on this manifold? Please let us know thanks. And how much for the dp? what size?
Sorry dumb question. What part of the A/C doesn't it clear? The compressor, condenser, or the lines?
I may just be a big dumb animal, but I was under the assumption that the wastegate would hit just the condensor. I dont beleive it gets in the way of the compressior. But then again FFGeoff would be the man to answer this.
/me mumbles nonsense about relocating the condensor

Geoff, looks beautiful as usual. I really like the way this one looks compared to the ones that are finished after the welding. I just think the finish before welding has more character.

BTW, I'm going to continue harassing you until you agree to build another AC comptable one, or I going to sell my car. I'm sure you don't want that eating away at your conscience.
It's also nice to see the real javierb14 posting again.

SAME HERE nice work geoff i cant stand the heat i need a/c... seriously
stop it..... i want your mani SOOO bad ...man they are pure SECKKKKSSSSS
ahhahahahhaa.
i wish i had money for it.
a t51r ON A HONDA????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????
WTF????????????
hahaha fritz...
/me says that nothing in the AC will clear. The compressor housing hits the ac compressor, the wastegate would hit the condensor, the runners would hit the lines and then you would just have a belt hanging off of the crank pulley, and thats no good
the price on the manifolds is 975 raw, and 1050 finished. This manifold was cutom, and had some other stuff dont to it, so it was 1150. The downpipes are a full 3" Stainless steel and are 399. They are long enough that it eliminates the cat.

there are 3 different kinds of t51r's this is the smaller of the three. somewhere between a t61 and a t66, not the t78 sized t51r spl of supra fame.
2jzs should use twin t3t04e's anyway
inside joke, sorta.
