Hey guys need some opinions on Integra build
Ok so I have a 95 GSR im undecided and contemplating between two builds. 1 a K24 swap or 2 build my gsr and boost it. My teggy will be a weekend car occasional track events. What would you guys recommend? I am mechanically inclined, so all work will be done by me besides tuning. My budget? well its enough to support a K swap, and get it running. Id appreciate the input.
k24
turbo gsr
Which one do you really want? What do you believe the pros and cons are for each set-up based on what purpose your going to be using the car for?
IMO if your budget is good enough to support a k-swap...thats what I would do...you can always boost that motor in the future.

do a k swap but i would keep the gsr and rebuild it, bore it over at least ti 81.5mm if not more, get you some darton MID sleeves, low compression pistons and eagle h beam rods, get you some brian crower stage 2 turbo cams, adjustable cam gears, arp head studs and bolts , edlebrock victor x intake manifold and get a turbo kit from dkgoodrich.com ( turbo and tune for around 2k ) and 255 fuel pump

Why say to bore it first then sleeve it? Wouldnt that be kindof un productive lol...
LA Sleeves
Aries pistons (10:1)
eagle rods
1000cc injectors
Oem cams (good for 500hp)
Supertech valve springs
Walbro 255
Rock the GSR, after boost you wont notice a diffrence anyways... K is nice but money can be spent in better places. Plus you already have a GSR!

But I want a K lol , but i guess its true after boost i wont notice the difference...
It depends on what you want t do with the car. If you want to go straight line speed, build/boost the GSR. If you want to take it to a road course or autocross, go K24. The K24 can be pretty damn quick in a straight line too if you want it to be.
buy a faster car to start with and save the gsr for a commuter?
if i had to choose one of your options it would be a K swap. keeps the reliability high.
still, in the end you will have just created a theft magnet that's still slower than a 10k late 90s corvette.
another thought is pull the gsr motor, buy a jdm itr engine. install that, run it for 50k, pull it, sell it and re install the gsr engine so you can sell your stock gsr again
modded cars are usually hard to sell...which is why i said K swap if you had to choose one. way more K buyers than turbo project buyers.

lol.. i could get a faster car but i like my gsr and i like building hondas so i don't know why you would suggest that i don't think i would be on here. plus my car will be a garage queen and occasional weekend driver its not a car thats gonna be parked at the mall all day its just a project car something for me to build, and i don't plan on selling it so value doesn't matter to me. As far as using it for a commuter i already have another commuter vehicle, but thanks for the input on getting a K

you will spend change doing one but worst case you can sell the swap and return the car to stock when you sell it all off. the really hot K swap to get would be the jdm type r in k series. you have a 6spd LSD transmission and 220hp with OE reliability. you could probably do the whole swap + ecu and tune + mounts and the whole 9 under 7 grand. the mounts and ecu are a substantial expense with K's. the actual swaps can be had just under 5k shipped complete
i can't tell you how many posts i've seen where someone says this then they either drift off or move on to another car in a few years. you ALWAYS have to consider resale when you mod something. unless you're the 1% that really is keeping the car another 10 years sooner or later the car is getting sold. a K swap will increase value and if you leave it totally stock be extremely reliable.
would be easier to setup too. you have the b series trans and b series mounts. no wiring mods needed.
if you do buy a sleeved short block from the get go from golden eagle. cracked ringlands and probably the #1 way a b series dies under boost.
one of my favorite econo turbos is the precision 5431E CEA, it's a billet wheel 50 trim that spools like a mad man and only costs $679. something like that paired up in a go autoworks kit could be affordable. still, all said and done with the sleeved short block and all the turbo stuff you're going to be in it around 7k ....maybe 8 with a clutch and the mounts. you would have a reliable 300whp though.
kind of a personal call if you want to use your gsr top end. me? i wouldn't, i would sell your gsr engine complete and put the money toward a new in the box ITR head from acura. they come with cams and are of course, brand new.
