I've been thinking about having my car painted some day. Since I bought my Accord used, it does have some light scratches and chipped spots. I've read about a lot of people having a bad experience at discount body shops like Macco. How much should a good paint job cost? I want the type of job where the paint wouldn't start to fade and chip away after a couple of years.

 

Unfortunately if you have to ask you probably can't afford it. $1500-$3000 for anything halfway decent.

 

your best bet is to shop around. do some research, find reputable shops. and see wat they charge.

maaco in my area just came out with a recent commercial saying you can now add a UV protection clearcoat in their paint jobs for 100bucks extra... I facepalmed hard.

you'll ALWAYS get what you pay for.

 

The shop my brother works at charges 2k Minimum for exterior only
