Default Accidently Downshifted!!!

hey guys, so i was racing some BMW, i won the first race, he wanted to go again i said fine, then the second time round i went from 3rd to 2nd instead of fourth and the rpms mustve shot up to probably 9-10k rpms but within half a second i put it back into neutral. The car sounds normal and it still pulls hard and im just wondering if there was a problem would i notice right away or would it take time? thanks...mines the k20a3 5 speed

If there are no problems, don't worry about it. You got lucky this time, learn from this experience and stop racing people in your daily driver.

Here's a story: I once overrevved an H22 to 9k when I missed 3rd gear. It started clacking really loud on the way home. I drove it all the way home like that, and pulled the valve cover when I got back. One of the valve adjustment locknuts wiggled itself off. I pulled the oil pan off searching for that little nut, I never found it. I simply put a new nut on there and never had another problem with that engine for another 100,000 miles.

So just keep an ear out for strange noises or such. If its still working right now, you'll probably be ok.
