86 Civic engine swap
I want to swap a bigger motor into my 86 DX hatchback. Has anyone done this? What engine was used and what model did the donor engine come from? How hard was it? On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the easiest, 10 the hardest)? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance
You can use an 86 - 89 Acura Integra engine, but switching over to fuel injection will be difficult. For this swap you also will need the Integra transaxle and some other parts (I can't remeber what). Running the Integra engine with sidedraft carbs would probably be the easiest to set up.

whatever swap you do in that car, the difficulty level will be a 10. because your car is carburated, and switching to fuel injections requires EVERYTHING to be swapped over. PITA. you're better off selling the DX and buying an Si.

A B16 will also fit with mods. SCC did an article on it also I think Hasport has mounts for it.
he's carbed! if he swaps, it MUST be a carbed motor. unless he converts to FI.
didn't i already say this...
