What fluid do you run in your manual trans?
just wondering what everyone uses in their honda manual transmissions. everyone i know uses something different so im curios to see what everyone on H-T uses.
list away and if you have an explanation why you use a specific thing i'm sure we'd like to hear it.

Personally, I use the Honda Genuine oil for peace of mind with its regular additives.
Is it advisable to "flush" your transmission, or just change the oil?

Redline Lightweight Shockproof in straightcuts, Basically any 10-30 in a n OEM box (Im partial to RP). If theres issues running 10-30 in an oem box.. Its the tranny not the fluid.
Id just as soon fill my trans with catpiss before the new Honda MTF.

Really hate Oem mtf that bad huh? I would like to know why.
Typically Torco MTF, Amsoil MTF, Honda MTF, and Pennzoil Synchromesh. Any 5w30 or 10w30 is fine really.
For the 500+ whp / drag guys - Torco RTF and Motul Motylgear 10w40.
While I'm not the most partial to Honda MTF, every higher mileage trans I've opened up that has run only MTF-II has been clean as hell on the inside compared to others.

i've worked at a few different honda dealers and dispite having a shelf full of honda mtf ALL the techs used 10w30 EVERY time. not saying all dealers do this but all i've worked at in 2 different states did.
i just bought a 90 crx HF but it has a B16A swap in it but heres where i get confused ( bc i dont know much about hondas at this moment) it has a YS1 tranny on it. im trying to figure out is this a good tranny and what fluid should i use in it? thank you
Right now the transmission is stock except for the Houseman 3.47 F/D. I'm using Honda MTF. When I send the transmission off to have it rebuilt with carbon fiber synchros and re-geared to better match the ITR's Turbo characteristics...it'll likely come back with Torco in it.
And it's a Honda manual transmission, so use any of the MTFs listed here. Don't make it difficult. :p

Same differential between them, but different gear ratios. The YS1 comes in both the LS and GSR Integras of that generation. If you cruise at 3500+ rpm @ 70 mph, you likely have the GSR version of the YS1. If it's below 3000 rpm @ 70, likely the LS.
I ran oem Honda MTF on my k20a2 trans with Mfactory lsd for 15k miles. I drive the dog crud out of this thing too, missed gears, grinded gears etc. and it still works and shifts very smoothly.
I used Torco MTF on my old GSR trans with a full rebuild kit from syncrotech and it shifted okay. not as smooth as all the hype came to be. *shrugs. Unless i start hardcore road racing i'll switch over to some redline or RTF.

You're comparing the feel of two totally different transmission layouts in terms of synchronizer capacities, let alone different shifter mechanisms. I wouldn't pull comparisons from fluid when used in such different circumstances - use the two fluids in the SAME transmission.
