I bought the hondata gasket a while ago. The manual that came with it told me to retighten the nuts after some time. And so I did. And I could tighten em a bit more than to begin with.

Now I checked today on a few nuts and again I could tighten em a bit..
So whats the deal here? Does the nuts backout on the studs they sit on because of the extra thickness of the gasket?
Or is it the gasket it self that does some funny stuff when it gets warm, I mean does it get thinner and thats why I can tighten the nuts even more?

Would it help to loctite the nuts in place?

Did you tq them or just tighten? You could be warping the intake manifold flange or stretching the studs

 

I just hand tighten em down till I felt it was enough you know.

 

that gasket soften after heat up.....tighten it again and you should be good.Do you got a intake leak or what?

 

Torque specs for those nuts is 14 lb/ft.
