Default F22A 5SP Gear Issue

Went to start the car, pressed clutch peddle , selected first gear, turned the ignition on, engine started, I released the clutch peddle and nothing!

I can shift through 1-5 R and not a single **** is given by the transmission. I dont get it? Even if the clutch was shot should'nt the transmission grind when you try to engage it into a gear with out using the clutch. ESPECIALLY first. ?

Help, advice and thoughts are welcome thanks bros.

possible compleat clutch failure and nothing is catching anymore aka input shaft isnt turning thats why you can put it in gear like if the engine were off..

Atleast its not to bad to do in a garage.. Put a 10lbs flywheel in while in there... Total night and day diffrence. Also do a Rear main since the trans is out... Exedy or comp clutch only

You could also do a h22/h23 trans swap or h22 with a f22 5th gear... Lots of options

You can, just make sure to get a breaker bar from like Harbor frieght (24") and a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter then have 17mm, 14mm, 12mm, 10mm sockets.. Deepwell and standerd... getting the flywheel off should be fun tho so you need to figure some way to keep the crank from turning over. I use a screw driver to hold to hold the flywheel... Flywheel tq is 76ftlbs and I dont remember off hand what pressure plate tq is but I think its something like 16ft lbs. Yes you can do it on jack stands, you only need to get the front off the ground use one jack stand under the oil pan with a block of wood to keep the motor from just hanging. Anything else just pm me. Oh use lock tight blue on the flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts.

I couldnt spend money on the car it was one of those dudes that charges more if he sees you can spend money on parts. Douche. Any way now I can do it myself. Should I lighten the flywheel from 19.5 from OE replacement weight to 14.5-15.5 weight?

So you suggest Excedy over other brands ? Why? A a guy I knew also preferred on his B16A as OE replacement. The question is, is it lighter than a OE replacement?
