do you have section 2 or part 2?
because the engine dipped/struggled then this code popped up i think there is something going on more than just a bad sensor/connection.
thank you very much!

What is the resistance of the CYP sensor?

If the resistance is fine, the next steps are to check the two CYP sensor wires for a short or open at the pins in the ECU connector. If all is fine, swap in a known good ECU.

Everything else you need to know is shown in the diagram Hero posted.

sweet! thanks you two.
what is the function of the CYP sensor?
does it just report problems or is it part of the engine operation?
if it is malfunctioning will it cause the engine to run poorly?

resistance was fine
pins 4-8 = 370
pins 2-6 = 376
pins 3-7 = 371

when testing for continuity you put one probe on pin and the other anywhere on the body (bare metal)?

yes, what do you use for "body ground?" it seems obvious and stupid, i just want to be sure before i move on.

speaking of which... to kinda prepare myself where would you recommend getting a "known good ECU?"

The thermostat housing should be fine as a ground.

no short from dist plug. i'm confused about the ecu plug.
what is shown in the the pic is the pin layout on the ecu so the plug is the mirror image of that. plug c would be the third from the left correct? but the when i look at the color code it doesnt match up. there arent even wires where they say they should be. so i dont know what to do there.

this is what i think is the c plug (is this the "C" plug?)

now my "A" plug was oil or something on it collecting lint.

so, i'll see if i can swap ecus with my friend

The connector views are from the wire side of female connectors.

Measure resistance between C4 and C14. If it's similar to the resistance measurement of the sensor, then continuity is fine.

Your pictures don't work. Post the IMG code for each picture.

Do nothing. It's dielectric grease. It helps seal the connector from moisture.

Slow down. You are moving forward without completing the tests. Finish them first.

Slow down and pay attention to details. Read my posts and the diagrams. Your top picture is clearly connector C (blue).
