Icon6 93 Civic - ZC swap problems and questions

So I just got my buddies 1990 si with a ZC from a 97 in it. I currently have a with a d15 in it. I warped my hear, but anyway. To swap his ZC and his 5spd transmission into my civic I was curious as to how much of the harness I am going have to change I have already noticed the distributor plugs are different. Also I would liketo know about other physical aspects. I've already noticed i won't have a front transmission mount without adding another cross member. What have I just gotten myself into? Am i going to have to redo my whole harnesses? Will I be fine without that front mount for a little until I can afford to make a cross member? Also how much work is involved in switching the clutch pedal over? I know I'm capable of doing so, but this will be my first Honda any input would be amazing. Also last thing, will my ecu work? I know he used his original ecu from his 1990 so I hope they are interchangeable.

so you have a 93 4dr currently with a 1.5L d15 and an automatic, and you want to put in a 1.6L zc (most likely a vtec if it's truly a 1997 engine - z6 variant) and a 5spd manual transmission? i'm guessing your 4dr is a DX and not an LX since it has a 1.5L - it would be easiest to get a 1997 wiring harness from a manual transmission civic, as well as all the smog components and ECU from a 1997 civic. there's a lot of cutting & hacking required to make a DFI wiring harness work for a MPFI, not to mention it being an automatic.

in the future, you need to be a little more specific to what you're trying to do... what YOUR car is, specifically, and what you're trying to accomplish, specifically. a lot more people would be willing to help out if they could figure out what you're trying to do. my best guess is above... but without knowing specifics, i cant tell you for sure

The only ZCs produced in '97 are non-vtec SOHC versions.

Both have the same 1.5L D15B7 in them

No it wouldn't, '96 - '00 civic harnesses are one piece and don't work in a '92 - '95 Civic. Keep the original '93 Civic harness and modify it as needed (shouldn't need any modifications when using the right components)

All USDM '92 - '95 Civics are MPFI

If you're going to post something, please make sure you know what you're talking about. I just picked that entire post apart, there was not a single correct fact in there.

OP, don't use the transmission, find a '92 - '00 transmission that uses a hydraulic clutch and doesn't require a bunch of modifications to install, use pedals from a '92 - '95 Civic or '94 - '01 Integra.
