Mechanic said Ebay Intake = blowing hot air into Cabin??? o.O?
So my lady took her type s to Godspeed to get her tranny fluid changed out (AMSOIL FTW) cus i didn't wanna do it, and she knew someone so they only charged 15$.
She told me that the mechanic told her, that her intake wasn't a real AEM therefore it caused the car to have hot air blowing into the cabin. For example when you are cruising, you switch the air to outside air, and it blows hot air.
When i heard this i was like wtf for reals? what does the Intake have anything to do with cold or hot air going into the cabin when all the intake does is suck air into the engine itself. But i wanted to make sure.
When you press the button for the air to be coming from the outside, whatever the temprature the air is outside, that will be the air you will be getting right? if its hot outside, it will blow hot air, if its cold it'll blow cold air?
Keep in mind, the fans are off, and climate control is switched the coldest position.
Im about 99% sure what kind of intake has nothing to do with what temperature the air is going to blowing into the cabin, but when i heard what the mechanic said , it threw me off. Just wanted to make sure. xP

the intake for the blower motor is where the windshield wiper motors are generally.
the intake on her rsx is on the front of the engine bay.
very little effect.
knock off air intakes come with shitty air filters, swap that for a decent name brand and you should be fine with it

so generally however hot or cold the air is outside, is the air you are going to get inside the cabin right?
I think something was lost in the translation.
What the mechanic probably said was her intake wasn't a real AEM therefore it caused the car to have hot air going into the intake.
