I would see if I could look up the manufacturer and see what they claim is within specs. Then you can use a micrometter to measure the material still left on the disc. I think the main thing to check is the throw out bearing for play. That is usually what makes noise when it is going bad. While it is out I would at least clean off all the dirt/grim/dust.

The main areas of wear are the metal 'fingers' in the middle of the pressure plate, the disc, and the throwout bearing like he said. If you don't know the history of the spare motor, give that clutch a really thorough look. There could be oil in the disc surface, or excessive wear on the disc and pressure plate. The flatness of it is also in question, but you can tell a lot by checking the disc and flywheel surfaces. You might see discolored areas in the metal where it has been abused. As long as you have a significant amount of friction material above the rivets on the disc, it will work.

well the clutch in my car i know for a fact has 5 to 7000 on it. and comparing the 2 the clutch in my car looks better. nothing looked wrong with the one in the spare motor it looked to be in great shape. just more material on the current clutch. still keeping the spare clutch for sure for when mine goes out,
