I have an srs exhaust and it's pretty quite but you can.. I have seen a car with a gutted cat and it had a metal zing to it.. The cat isn't a flow killer on exhaust systems it the muffler and small size pipe

This. Also, yes, it will make your car louder and buzzier. The cat operates as a secondary resonator, as well as an exhaust air purifier.

Get the cat bud, if you can't find an OEM one, go with Magnaflow they're not bad.

and it is a felony to mess with it. not that any cop would ever check and know what ticket to give you but it is.

any universal one will work. just get the same pipe size bring it to an exhaust shop and tell em to weld it up. oem ones are like 800. universals are 100ish. just a heads up on that plan.

To a degree, you can run that but you will get a CEL from the lack of O2 sensor being there (if you're ODB2), you (if comfortable with it) can drill a hole in the cat, weld on a nut and in essence create your own O2 bung.
I've heard of people doing it, never done it myself, so take it with a grain of salt.

I think it would be nastier sounding... just the main 2.25 inch pipe tip on my muffler .. the main end small pipe comming off back of muffler came off and my car is loud when shifting through 1,2nd gear... it doesnt sound good... when I get a good paycheck Ive got my eyes on a whole new exhaust starting at headers back

Steer clear of ebay is my only warning, it may be cheap, but it will fall apart...

well good sir. its the name youre paying for. and anything OEM is expensive.

i've had my universal vibrant for 3 years and it works just as well. so yes it will. i've also tracked this car and i beat on it often.
maybe you should try a little research so you don't have to ask stupid questions like this to begin with. you know youtube(or maybe you don't since you made this) youtube.com try it. its got videos of crappy no cat exhaust abundant.

it will set a MIL light. idk how you have an o2 in a bad spot.
what year is this car even? since you decided we don't need to know this.
if its obd1 it'll mess up your fuel ratio.
if its obd2 it depends on which one it is. pre cat fuel ratio again. post cat who cares since its just for the cat.
and finally SEARCH. use google. this is an easy question.

Sorry you had to waist your time writing so much but Ronht has already answered all of my questions and the thread was only if it would be very loud I looked for hours on YouTube and only manage to fine one vid of stock catless exhaust and it was way louder than mine and it only temp I think I mentioned that in a above comment I plan to get a converter soon as I get the cash since the exhaust hasn't been the only thing I'm working on
