did you break the nut loose first? once you break it loose then adjust it with the flat head.

You need to use a 10mm closed end wrench to break the nut that will allow the adjusting screw to be easily adjusted.

just break it loose with a 10mm deep socket. it shouldn't be hard.

You will also have to use a 10mm wrench, otherwise you will not be able to adjust the screw and tighten the nut back up while keeping the adjustment screw from moving.

Even better would be to use a valve adjustment tool. aka a 10mm jam nut adjustment tool. Pretty easy to use vs having to use a wrench and screwdriver separately.

Is your engine at TDC for that cylinder? The rocker should have some movement to it.

All I had is just a 10mm socket & ratchet to break the nuts loose, 10mm wrench to hold the nut when I turn the screw, flat head to turn the screw, and a propane torch to heat up the stuck screws.

I just did valve lash on my bro's new F22B1 I put in, and those turning screws are stuck to the nut even if the nuts are loosened. What I did was used a propane torch and torch the nut and screw for a good 15-20 sec then turn the screw. It works flawless! All of them were stuck like that, so I had to heat them up to break them loose.
