Default 1992 honda accord chokes during acceleration

I have a 1992 Honda Accord with 235,000 miles. The car is manual. Recently whenever I accelerate, the car engine chokes and makes the car jolt forward slightly. Afterward the car will run smoothly. This process repeats. This happens most frequently when the AC is on and when I shift gears on a hill. I have already replaced fuel filter but there was no difference. The engine's idle is sometimes below 5000. Can anybody help?

It could be plugs, wires, distributor. I'd start with plug wires because they might not be able to handle the current when the engine is under load.
