Are there any bolts I am going to have to replace when I start doing my exhaust swap?

Going from a 99 LS stock cat back to a 01 R cat back. Are there any special tools I should get in order to get the original bolts off? I think some people have had trouble with "melted" bolts...

Any help would be appreciated.

It just depends if you snap or strip any of the bolts. No need for special tools.. I did it with normal hand tools and ratchet set. Get some WD 40 tho.

 

I recently installed a new Type-R catback exhaust on my '94 GS-R. The only bolts that I needed were the two bolts (see diagram below - #21) that connect the exhaust to the B-pipe. I initially sprayed these bolts with Liquid Wrench, but they still snapped.

you will just need like a 14mm and 12 mm wrench, possibly a breaker bar, lots of WD 40!

Thanks guys - Bret, where do you keep getting all those diagrams? do you have a higher resolution/larger version of that one?

Anyone else run into any problems with any bolts or anything?
