This receiver looks cool, but
whatup? I'm new to this forum but I got a 99 integra LS, and was wondering about this Panasonic CQ-DFX302U
( http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/sho...ategoryId=2474 for specs) anyway it looks cool and all, but i know nothin about car audio and was wondering if this thing will give me good sound? I know there are others out there but how does it compare, power and quality wise, to some of the other brands for the same price? thanks so much guys peace

Panasonic makes nice stuff and it probably sounds great, but it concerns me that it doesn't have an auxiliary input. That means if you ever want to install a CD changer, you can't. Instead, you're paying for that fancy graphic display, which is downright useless IMO. Also, you might be able to get EQ presets or even a customizeable EQ for that price. I believe Sony offers it.
I'm really happy with my Eclipse CD player. I got it for cheap because it's last year's model, so if you can find one, it's model # 54400. Simple, straightforward display and controls, and high sound quality.

I am not really a fan of panasonic car audio, if you like the way that looks you should take a look at the pioneer 8400 and 9400, much better looking IMO.
I have a pioneer 7300 (2001model) 3-4v constant rca outputs, oel display, xm/cd changer ready. the 8400 plays mp3 and wma files which I feel in this day and age is more beneficial than cd changer capability. 9hrs of music on 1 cd
It really depends what you want to do with it. I would reccomend not buying an entry level cd player, most people just want to upgrade almost immediately after buying one.

So basically, with that panasonic you are paying for looks mostly? What is an equalizer.. er preset thing you were talking about? And I'm getting a hint that eclipse and pioneer have some of the best head units? thanks, let me know if im wrong.
try comparing prices with alpine hu's.. they have some very good models for decent prices
My neighbor used to have a camry, and when he paid it off he wanted to get another one, meanwhile I was trying to convince him to buy an accord. Just about everyone knows that accords and camry's are comparable cars, and my nieghbor found out that with all the features he wanted in his car that the camry was 2600 dollars more than the accord. Needless to say he now owns an accord.

you can use the presets that are already set or adjust to your liking. The sony's from the past 2 years have really been a great bargain (mainly because of that feature).
