EPROM and Emulator questions
I hope I'm not asking the most asked question...
I am wanting to learn about/get into tuning.
I have done research on EPROM emulators and real-time emulators.
I've looked at Moates Burn2's and Ostrich.
My question is this:
My circumstances are this...
I have a 90 CRX that I swapped a GS-R B18C1 into.
It has Hondata S200(YES I KNOW IT'S OUTDATED)
I have all the software needed to set a base map and do the changes I want to.
But, I don't know how the Ostrich works with the S200...?
The ostrich plugs right into the ecu.
I don't understand what purpose the Hondata box is serving if the Ostrich doesn't plug into it.?
Should I just get a chip burner like the Burn2? Or should I go the Ostrich route?
I could not find any youtube videos showing the Ostrich working with Hondata S200. That would have been very helpful.
Anything to help me understand this would be VERY appreciated.

The s200 needs the romeditorv3 or romeditorv4 with dongle cable to be tuned.
You also need an ostrich & a chip burner if you don't feel like running off the ostrich all of the time.
By the time you buy the romeditorv4 & you buy the ostrich you may as well have paid for the s200 to s300 upgrade:

the s200 is just used as an interface module that lets you datalog through it (required). otherwise, as mentioned by spunkster, it will be in limp mode...
ostrich goes directly to your laptop. the cn2 goes to your s200, and serial comes out from the s200.

Anyone can download & open the romeditorv4, however romeditorv4 requires a dongle cable to burn the chip or save the file. The romeditorv4 dongle cable is $195 by it's self.
