First things first. I just got my car back from the body shop for repair and paint.
(they did a mid level job)

So after they messed around with the bumper my right side of tail lights just don't work or work but are dim.

The turn signal works sometimes, the brake works if the headlights are off but is far dimmer, and the reverse seems to work but is also very dim.

They did paint over the clip and all the bulbs are new.
The clip that has paint in it is the one strapped to the trunk and only on the wire connecting side.

Could it be just the fact they got paint in it or did something short?

( I will introduce myself properly in while now that the car is at least showable)

 

Sounds like they got paint in the connecting clip. Clean up that connection and it should help/fix it. Why was the clip painted over anyway?

 

Was it Maaco? They're known for painting panels, hoods, etc. But what many people don't know is, as an added bonus, they'll also paint your windows and electrical connections! No extra charge!

 

sorry for the delay. yea it was Maaco...

Got it fixed. they painted the outter connections and the inner ones corroded beyond fixing
