How much paint do i need to order
I am about to paint my 93 coupe.. I am not doing the engine bay in the same color as the rest of the car. So i would need enough paint for the full body, and Jams.. Im thinking 3 quarts(of sprayable material) would be enough. Do you fellow painters agree?
Sorry I dont know the conversions of volume but it generally depends on the amount of thinners the paint you'll be using requires. For me 1/4 of a litre is enough at 1:1 paint thinners ratio for a bumper so id say 3 litres or 4 to be safe?
Depends on the type of paint, how good you are with a gun and what kind of gun you have. I would think 3 quarts of a decent covering urethane paint should be enough (although typically, you get a better value buying it by the gallon.)
SadisticRug, I'm not sure what line you are using but I haven't encountered a 1:1 paint to thinner ratio (except rustoleum...)

Its a urethane single stage, and actually if i bought a gallon it would cost me a decent amount more than what this will cost, or i would just go that route.
I'd say you will be fine with a single-stage urethane if you are a decent painter with an HVLP gun. 3qts of base will yield like 4 or 5 quarts sprayable after the activator and reducer are added.
Actually im not a professional painter, and id be buying 2 qts which is equal too 3 quarts of sprayable material.. The tech sheet says each quart makes 1.5 qts of sprayable material.. The tech sheet also states a gallon would cover aprox. 583 sq ft.. But being idk how to calculate that on the body of a car, and couldnt find info online, that doesnt help me lol.
