Default Question about distributer replacement and timing

So my new distributer should be here hopefully tomarrow. Do I have to reset the timing. Iv read a bunch of threads on how to do it just don't want to mess the thing up. Is there anyway to mark the distributer or block so I can just pop the old one off and slip the new one on without messing with anything. I'm really bad with timing and things of this nature just love my civic and want it to live again. Thanks in advance!

Its just ignition timing not mechanical. Use a timing gun

So say I was just replacing the O-ring on the distributer I would have to set the ignition timing again? I can't mark it or anything I don't have a timing gun so no way to do it? Thanks for the help!

Id just redo it everytime it doesnt take long. You can mark it but thats not completely accurate and it wont work for you since your replacing the dizzy. Just replace it then redo the timing
