'91 cuts off and starts back up while driving - elec short?
'91 Accord that just started developing this problem. I can be driving down the road at various speeds (mostly over 55) with radio on and AC blowing full blast.
Sometimes when I touch the brake pedal, turn blinker on, lower window (power), etc....the car will "blink out". What I mean by that is there is a loss off power. IE: Aftermarket radio stops playing and then starts back (like someone turned it off and immediately turned it back on), blower stops for a split second and then starts blowing again, spedo drops like a rock but jumps back up to correct speed before it hits 0 mph. It doesn't always do it....but it is getting more frequent.
If the problem occurs when I first push the brake pedal and the power drops....if I continued pushing the pedal...the power ALWAYS comes back....it isn't like the power comes back after I release the brake pedal or stop the window from rolling up or down.
The best that I can describe is that it only loses power for a split second and then power is restored.
The timing belt was replaced a few months ago... are there any ground lines that may be loose that could cause these symptoms.
Is there anyway this could be related to a main fuel relay (there have been occassions where the car will not crank, I punch the MFR a time or two and the car fires right up)?
Is there anyway this could be related to a pass. side auto retractable seat belt that sometimes doesn't release when the door is opened?
I am at a loss here because the local Honda dealership said they have a hard time diagnosing intermittent problems.
