Default bsimon1990ef Build

I bought a 1990 Civic Dx two weeks ago. I also have a 1992 Prelude SI 4WS and a 1993 Civic lx four door.

This 1990 civic is a hatchback that I plan on building from the ground up. This will be my project car that I hope will be a pretty fast and reliable car. I already enjoy driving this car although it seems to have a couple of issues mainly being the suspension.

It is not an unmodded car as the previous owner had it dropped and a few other things were added.

Current modifications:

Motor:
ZC motor (88 integra as it says on the reciept) I have alot to learn about the ZC. I was initially ready to sway a b16 in it but my neighbor and trusted friend told me that they make relatively the some power but the B16 has more torque. I think it probably revs alot higher as well.

The seller also installed a new clutch and lightened flywheel.

Suspension & Wheels:
KYB shocks with Skunk 2 lowering springs
Black 15' rims (cant recall the brand at the moment)

Exhaust:
Cant remember the name but its just the muffler not a full catback.

Interior:
LS center console with a functional cupholder. I havent had a cupholder in a while as the 92 prelude does not come with one and the civic lx cupholder is broken. Although the interior is blue and the center console is black its ok.

Exterior:

Recent Paint job
Carbon Fiber hood

Overall, that is it for the mods.

Last week I decided to rest the prelude(My Daily) and drive the Civic to work and around to see the issues. I did test drive it prior to buying it but I feel that a test drive wont really tell a person whats really wrong with the car. I always believe that a person sells thier car for a reason and not just cuase they feel like it or whatever.

Upon driving it I notice that going over bumps is painful not only to the car but my body, the car pulls to the right which the seller told me it needed an alignment so that was okay, the speakers he installed in the back turn off after hitting bumps potholes, ect. The front left tire is completely worn out from camber or whatever. The inner wall surrounding the tire has marks where you can see the wheel or tire is rubbing the chassis. The interior is dirty, driver seat fabric is ripped...overall this is going to be fun.

After driving for the past week I decided upon what to focus on first which is the suspension. I think the swap will ave to wait another day. I want to really push the car and to do so I feel I need to focus on the footwork right now.

Items I purchased after researching, focusing on my budget, and also the fact that I want good quality items and do not want to be working on this again and again.

Koni Adjustables(Yellow and huge shout out to Paopao for the sell; amazing seller and would buy from again.)

Ground Control coilovers (I believe I am getting 430 front 350 rear.)

Energy suspension bushing kit(Probably the best thing I bought and I will clue everyone into this in a few)

Ebay generic upper control arm and camber kit( I figure if I upgrade the bushings that will go onto the arm its will be fine; besides Skunk 2 and other brands are too expensive right now.)

Future purchases for suspension. (Sway bars for the front and rear..maybe)

A few current pics during my stint at my weekend job as a valet. Sorry for the poor quality I was using my camera phone.

Today I began working on her. I took off the shocks and spring which are for sale by the way(KYB Shocks and Skunk 2 lowering springs). The car is a little low for me and especially where I drive it is not pleasant. I also removed the upper control arm to replace with the new one when it comes in this week. I am also working on removing the lower control arm. Unfortunately, the bolt seized on me and now its either heating it up or using the sawsaw.

Why are you getting those spring rates... (depends on what you want to do with the car) but if you want the car to rotate well in the corners rears should be higher than the fronts. I suggest 400F 500 Rear...
