Timing belt loose.
I noticed some tick on my 99 Civic EX and some longer than normal cold starts. So I opened up the valve cover and the upper timing belt cover to check the lash adjusters with a feeler gauge. They were all in spec but I felt the timing belt and man, I can move it around on the cam with my hand! I've never felt a belt so loose. EDIT: I felt this when the number 3 piston was at TDC on the compression stroke, I understand at certain stages the belt may be loose? I posted a "Is this knock" thread not too long ago, I think maybe this is what I was hearing. Needless to say this car is parked until it gets a good service.
Now, the tick could this be caused by an oil pump starting to wear out? When is this typically replaced?
Also, I was looking at this Gates kit to purchase for the timing belt service. (I heard the stock belts say Gates on them, I am an OEM kinda guy)

Does that include everything I need? I replaced the valve cover gaskets when I did the lash adjuster check.
As for the cold start, cold that be something with the ignition (Cap?), I am not getting a CEL but I want to nip this in the butt before it becomes a problem
