Default 94 Del Sol - Check Engine Light stays on and wont go off right away

So my del sol has been having issues and it seems to have gotten worse. after i turn the key to the start position the check engine light sill stay on and wont go off right away and i have to sit there for a few minutes until i hear the fuel pump kick in then it will go off and ill be able to start the car. even after i drive it a while and i can shut it off and still have to wait to start it again . I was worried cause the is a small leak near the passenger floorboard and i thought the ecu may be getting damp. I opened it up and it was fine inside. Ive read on here and done what i thought might fix it but still nothing. Is there any other solutions i may wanna try?

If you don't have a reader, you can still determine what code the CEL is throwing with just a paper clip or jumper wire. Here's a very thorough write-up and tutorial, be very careful, you don't want to screw anything up if you jump the wrong pins.

What year Del Sol? OBD1 or OBD2 ECU?

If OBD1, resolder the main relay.

Also clean and tighten the G101 ground connection on the thermostat housing.

It's a 94 del sol. I've replaced the main relay. Didn't help. Cleaned the ground connection still nothing. Checking the code for the check engine light doesnt work cause it doesn't throw a code while I'm driving

Swap in a known good ECU to see whether the problem is eliminated.

The CEL does not need to be thrown while driving to pull the codes.

If you have a multimeter, prior to purchasing a replacement ECU, you could test whether the ECU receives battery voltage on all power wires from the main relay and whether all ECU ground wires are good.
